In 2001 Seamus was diagnosed with brain cancer. In 2001 and 2002 Seamus underwent
multiple brain surgeries as well as radiation and chemotherapy. In 2007 the cancer returned
as more tumors were found in his brain and spine. Again he was operated on but this time
doctors could only remove one of the three tumors in his brain. He is currently undergoing
aggressive chemotherapy to remove the tumors. Despite the difficulty of his treatment,
Seamus’s spirits are high.
It was in Seamus's best interest to stay with
the hospital where he was originally
diagnosed and treated. However, due to a
change in his insurance company's coverage
plan the cost will now be covered as "out of
network", which means the O'Connors
out-of-pocket expenses will be higher.
Certain procedures, like harvesting of stem
cells, are extremely expensive. The
O'Connors may need to pay as much as
$20,000 over and above what insurance
covers. As members of Seamus's
community, church and schools, we are
reaching out and asking for all to help the
O'Connors. Please donate to help cover
the medical costs to cure Seamus. Help us
reach our goal of raising $20,000.
The O'Connors need our help.
